Simon Lawson is an artist printmaker who established Huguenot Editions in 2006. Having studied at the Royal Academy Schools, he worked for Alecto Editions on the production of Joseph Bank’s Floralegium project, the botanical engravings resulting from Captain Cook’s travels. He subsequently printed at Hope-Sufference Press and Thumbprint Editions, working on projects for artists including Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin RA and The Chapman Brothers, before establishing his own studio in Huguenot Parade, Wandsworth.
In 2006 Simon also became the etching tutor at the Royal Academy Schools. Alongside Eileen Cooper RA, he initiated the highly acclaimed RA Editions, an ongoing series of collaborative projects with RA members, invited artists and Schools Alumni including Tracey Emin RA, Phillip King RA and Grayson Perry RA. Recent projects at Huguenot Editions have produced etchings with Rachel Howard, Clare Woods, Bill Jacklin RA, Runa Islam, Mat Collishaw, Jake & Dinos Chapman and Sir Peter Blake.
